Arnold Clark Car Rental Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2016 and 31-Dec-2016

An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured by the website operator
on booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard.

The balance is payable directly to the supplier on arrival. Payments for
extensions may be subject to an administration fee.

23 – 24 years Groups 1-3 (including 02a & 03a)
(A young driver surcharge of £10 per day will apply for 23 & 24 year olds)
25 – 75 years Groups 4 and over
Over 75 years Contact Central Reservations for details. Medical proof will
be required.

In order to allow our branches to maximize the potential of their fleet, we must insist
that all bookings for airport branches are made giving the correct flight number and
arrival time. If we do not have this information, we will not guarantee the booking.
We can no longer accept provisional bookings. Any flight changes must be reported
to our reservations team or airport branch.

Delayed flights will be met until 11pm. It is imperative the customer contacts the
rental branch of any delays in order that they can confirm arrangements for the
collection of the vehicle. There will be an additional ‘out of hours’ charge of £45 to
meet a delayed flight after the office closes and up to 11pm. Any delays after this
time will not be met and arrangements will be made to collect the vehicle the
following morning.

Where the flight arrives after our closing time, there will be a charge of £45 to meet
customer. Please note we will only meet up until 11pm. A driver proposal form must
be completed for pre booked hires. If not received within 48 hours of the flight we
will be unable to meet the customer.
When the driver proposal forms are received, payment will be taken as we are unable
to retain copied data in the office showing all credit card details. It must be destroyed
after payment is taken.

When a vehicle is returned to one of the airport onsite car parks, with prior notice a
charge of £30 will be applied. This is to cover car parking costs.

Due to ongoing security restrictions at all airports a £8 charge is added to all bookings
at booking stage. It will show as Airport Security charge and will only be added once,
not on arrival and departure.

We have a bus and train station pick-up and drop-off service available at our branches
please enquire for further details.
Glasgow City Centre (South Street) has 5 key collection points including Central and
Queen Street train stations.

Branches will hold the full excess as a deposit if the excess waiver is not taken, a £200
deposit will be held if excess waiver is taken.

UK drivers should bring their valid driving licence (original copies only) and two
further forms of identification, one of which must include proof of address. This can
be two bills or one bill and another form of photographic identification, preferably a
passport. Acceptable documents include utility bills and bank or credit card
statements issued within the last three months.
All UK drivers (excluding Northern Ireland) should also bring their access code from
the DVLA, which you can acquire from the DVLA’s online Share Driving
Licence system.

EU and International Drivers
EU licence holders not residing in the UK must bring a domestic driving licence and
either a passport or ID card.
EU licence holders who are residents in the UK must bring with them a domestic
licence, passport or ID card and proof of UK address. This can be two bills or one bill
and another form of photographic identification, preferably a passport. We also accept
utility bills and bank or credit card statements that have been issued in the last three
Drivers from outside the EU must possess a valid domestic driving licence with an
English translation. If the English translation is not available, an international driving
permit is required in addition to a domestic driving licence.
A passport must also accompany a domestic driving licence.
Drivers must have held a full valid driving licence for a minimum of 4 years to be
able to hire from us. Drivers must have a clear insurance record. Certain endorsed
licences may or may not be accepted at the discretion of the rental location.

Our Insurance covers
*Full repairs to Rental vehicle in the event of a road traffic accident (excluding
excess )
*Third Party liability unlimited (including passengers in hired vehicle)
*Theft of vehicle and accessories (excluding excess)
*Cover would default if the necessary security precautions were not implemented
i.e. if the keys were left in the ignition or the radio front was left in the vehicle.
*The standard excess is £750 and £1000, a higher excess may be applied in certain

*Theft of property within the vehicle
*Driver of the hired vehicle’s personal injury or loss of life (Standard Insurance
policy )

The hirer is responsible for the first £750 on the groups 1- 4 cars, A2 and B1 vans.
£1,000 on all other groups, for any damage to the vehicle, unless the Excess Waiver
has been taken.

The price quoted includes 2 x drivers. A further 2 x additional drivers may be added for a
charge of £5 per driver per day, capped at £50 provided they meet all the insurance
requirements and have a valid driving licence. For 4 drivers the excess will be increased
to £1,500. This may be wavered to £100 with the purchase of excess wavier.

If vehicles are returned in an unacceptable condition the branches are within their
rights to add a valet charge.

Current legislation for all children under 135cm or less than 12 years of age requires
them to use a correct baby seat or booster cushion. These can be rented for £1 per day
(maximum £28). Leaflets are available on request showing sizes of car seats.

We can offer Satellite Navigation Systems for £10 per day (capped at £50). These
MUST be requested at time of booking.

All vehicles will be supplied with full tanks and should be returned with the same. If
not a 20% refueling surcharge will be applied.

There will be a charge to drop a vehicle off at another branch outwith the same

These are the liability of the hirer. When the customer signs the Rental Agreement
they do sign to accept liability. We will pass customer details on to the relevant
authority who will pursue the claim. Where Arnold Clark incurs any charges an admin
charge will be applied. Bus lane fines will be paid by Arnold Clark and client charged

Our vehicles may be taken overseas* (eg to Ireland) but there are certain
VE103 FORM – to show that Arnold Clark gives permission to take the vehicle
abroad. Charge - £25
5 Star Breakdown cover must be organized in advance of the hire. We can give
contact details to arrange this as it is not something we can provide.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
